A Seaside Yes and a Countryside I Do

💍 Planning Our Wedding: A Cosy Little Love Story So Far
Back in February, with sea breeze in our hair and frost in the air, Sean got down on one knee on Whitstable beach. I had no idea it was coming. We’d spoken about “someday,” sure, but I always imagined it happening after we bought our home. So when it happened right there in the middle of a chilly seaside afternoon, it was the most beautiful surprise. One I’ll never forget. 🐚💫

We’ve never dreamed of a big, extravagant wedding. The idea of spending the same as a house deposit just never sat right with us. But with our big families and so many people we truly want there, something tiny just didn’t feel quite right either. So, we’ve landed somewhere in the middle — something cosy, full of heart, and totally “us.”

🏡 The Venue
We’ve booked the sweetest little spot tucked away in the countryside. It’s affordable, flexible, and gives us the freedom to make the day our own. The outdoor space is what really got us — open skies, gentle views, golden light, and that peaceful kind of quiet that just makes you breathe a little deeper.

💸 Keeping It Simple (and Lovely)
We’re trying to be really intentional with this whole thing. We want the day to feel joyful and relaxed — not rushed, overdone, or stressful. Just love, warmth, and happy hearts.

🌿 Digital invites
Sean (my clever coding fiancé) is building our wedding website from scratch, so we’re skipping the paper and going fully digital. It’s simple, eco-friendly, and saves us a good bit of money too.

🍰 Homemade sweetness
My mum — who’s baked every birthday cake I’ve ever had and more wedding cakes than I can count — is making our cake too. We’re having a decorative dummy cake for show and serving cupcakes instead. Less faff, more fun, and way more flavour options!

💄 Getting ready with love
One of my beautiful friends (who just happens to be amazing with hair and makeup) has offered to get me ready on the day. I feel so lucky to have people around me who are pouring so much love into this celebration. It means the world.

“A wedding is a party, not a performance. If you end the day married to your best friend, it was a perfect day.”

✨ What’s Next?
There’s still so much I want to share — from our wedding theme and colour palette to the little handmade touches that are making it feel so special. We’re finding our way to a day that blends relaxed vibes with meaningful details, and I honestly can’t wait to take you along for the ride.

Love
